The gate to the Hurva, located on HaYehudim Street is not always open, but a photo exhibit outside of the remains of the synagogue is accessible during the day (and sometimes at night if someone forgets to lock the gate!). The modern arch was built after '67 to commemorate what was one of the 2 tallest buildings in the neighborhood, and if the municipality and Jewish Quarter Development Company have their way, a rebuilt Hurva will soon be built on the ruins of the old. Hurva Update As of November 2008 the entire frame of the rebuilt Hurva is completed and the frame is almost completely covered with Jerusalem stone. It is not clear if the Jewsih Quarter Development company has reached a decision regarding the interior of the synagogue and it looks like we have a year or two until the building is completed. In the meantime, the residents are anxiously awaiting the removal of the crane and the building site which has expropriated half of the Hurva Square, where Rova residents congregate.
