Across from the Israelite Tower is a topographical model of First Temple Jerusalem complete with a new audio-visual presentation that uncovers the charm of the city during the period of the Kings. In a moving encounter with figures from that period which highlights the uniqueness of Jerusalem and the spirit of this eternal city. We recommend visiting the model before heading down to the City of David National Park in order to enhance your appreciation of what you will see there. In edition to the audio-visual presentation and exhibits, the center also offers unique Bar and Bat mitzvah and interactive programs. Programs include "From Alef to Tav"-the development of Hebrew script (Learn how to write in ancient Hebrew script and stump your Hebrew teacher back at home!!! );"Underground Jerusalem on burial and tombs"; "Ancient Diplomacy" on letters, seals and testimony about t he destruction of the city; and "Foes and Enemies at the Gates of Jerusalem" on ancient practices and strategies. You can learn more about their programs on the Yad Yitzchak Ben Zvi website: www.ybz.org.il . The exhibit is located between Bonei HaHoma & Plugat HaKotel, at the top of Shonei Halachot Street (trust me, it only sounds complicated).
